Active Ingredients: Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-7, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5
The BCN Oculare formula is specifically developed to directly address the main unaesthetic manifestations of the eye contour: bags, dark circles, and expression lines (crow's feet).
BCN Oculare is specially designed to be a complete treatment for the eye contour, thanks to the combined and synergistic action of two types of advanced active ingredients in its formula: new generation peptides and classic non-peptide ingredients from Institute BCN.
BCN Oculare achieves spectacular results in this delicate area of the face, restoring a fresh, rested, healthy, and luminous appearance to the eyes, reflecting smooth, firm, and hydrated skin.
The skin around the eye contour is one of the most delicate areas of the body, which is why it can accumulate various unaesthetic manifestations.
BCN Oculare aims, with its triple orbicular action, to correct the so-called BOA effect:
-Bags
-Dark Circles
-Expression Lines
Thanks to new generation peptides, BCN Oculare achieves:
The thin layer of skin around the eyes is one of the most delicate and vulnerable areas of the body because the average thickness of this dermal layer is five times thinner than the rest of the face, which in turn is five times thinner than the body. Additionally, it is an area subjected to constant activity (blinking, expressions, and gestures performed almost unconsciously), so it tends to stretch over time. Moreover, the orbicular area lacks muscles to support it and sebaceous and sweat glands to provide hydration to prevent wrinkles. Furthermore, due to the low number of hormonal receptors and capillaries present, collagen synthesis and skin repair processes are slower, favoring the accumulation of toxins and fats.
For all these reasons, this area combines different unaesthetic manifestations due to age, exposure to external environmental factors, and other internal factors such as fatigue, diet, or the presence of certain health disorders.
The three main manifestations are those that constitute the BOA effect: bags, dark circles, and expression lines or crow's feet.
Bags form due to a loss of tone in the muscle and skin of the lower eyelid. The skin becomes flaccid, allowing the natural adipose tissue around the eyes to move downward and accumulate as deposits (fatty bags). They are also the result of fluid retention caused by climate changes, hormonal factors, excessive salt intake, lack of sleep and rest, allergies, dermatitis, and hereditary factors (watery bags).
Dark circles occur due to blood stagnation caused by slowed circulation and are visibly manifested due to the low density of the skin in the orbicular area. The reduced elasticity and increased fragility of the capillaries in this area lead to increased vascular congestion, facilitating blood leakage and thus its main component, hemoglobin. Dark circles are nothing more than an accumulation of hemoglobin and its degradation products, released from blood corpuscles that escape from small capillaries and burst in the skin. In this degradation process, hemoglobin breaks down into its two main components, the heme group and iron. The degradation of the heme group results in biliverdin (a dark green-violet pigment) and bilirubin and iron, which give rise to a dark brown to orange-red pigment. The consequence is an accumulation of iron and poorly soluble pigments and the resulting coloration of the area.
Expression lines are due to internal factors such as age, skin type, and external factors such as exposure to cold or sun. With age, the body's collagen production, responsible for maintaining skin shape and firmness, decreases. Another mechanism leading to the production of these wrinkles is the global disorganization of the skin that occurs with age due to the loss of cellular communication among keratinocytes, which can promote fibroblast proliferation and thus increase collagen production and fiber contraction capacity. Silicon is involved in this mechanism as it stimulates keratinocyte metabolism.
The main components of BCN Oculare are new generation peptides, which act synergistically with the different classic active ingredients in the formulation to address the main unaesthetic manifestations of the eye contour.
Palmitoyl Oligopeptides, such as palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 and palmitoyl tripeptide-1, promote collagen and hyaluronic acid production in the deeper layers of the skin. They also help protect the skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays, adding another layer of protection to the delicate skin around the eyes. Additionally, they are related to Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a hormone that reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines Interleukin-6 (IL-6). They consist of a chain of amino acids along with palmitic acid, a fatty acid that allows peptides to penetrate the skin. They are useful against inflammation, one of the main factors responsible for the loss of elasticity and development of skin wrinkles due to age. Their mechanism of action is based not only on reducing the production of inflammatory substances but also on stimulating skin regeneration. Thus, their main action is reducing expression lines, which according to several studies improve by around 60%, and preparing the skin to defend itself against external aggressions. They are also called pro-collagen peptides as they have the ability to send signals to collagen-producing cells to increase their production and that of hyaluronic acid, reversing the wrinkle formation process, increasing skin firmness and shape.
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5 has decongestant properties and reduces fluid retention due to its draining effect and inhibition of Angiotensin I-Converting Enzyme (ACE). These effects, along with its ability to increase skin elasticity and smoothness, result in an improvement in bags that appear in the periorbital area due to muscle weakening, flaccidity, or fluid accumulation due to increased capillary permeability.
In addition to peptides, BCN Oculare features the synergistic action of other advanced active ingredients such as:
