electrostimulation

Muscle electrostimulation (EEM) or electrical neuromuscular stimulation (ENE) or electrostimulation, is the way of exercising using electrical impulses. The impulses are generated in a device that is applied with electrodes to the skin close to the muscles that are intended to be stimulated. The impulses mimic the action potential coming from the central nervous system, causing muscle contraction. The electrodes are usually attached to the skin. EMS is a form of electrotherapy or muscle training.
