Half-round foam bolster with a flat base for professional positioning on physiotherapy treatment tables and massage tables. Provides low elevation and will not roll, staying securely in place. Washable, disinfectable cover. Weight: 0.4 kg. Weelko WKF013.A12, black.
There are two reasons to choose a half-round bolster instead of a full-round bolster. The first is height: sometimes you only need slight elevation to relieve tension on a joint without causing compensatory movement. The second, particularly useful in daily professional practice, is that a half-round bolster has a flat base and does not roll. Once positioned, it stays in place when the patient readjusts or when you mobilise the body segment.
SPONG is the half-round positioning bolster in the Weelko range. It features medium-density foam, a washable cover and a weight of just 0.4 kg, making it the easiest accessory to handle on the service trolley.

When to Use the Half-Round Bolster
Gentle cervical support. Maintains the natural curve of the neck without causing flexion, ideal for trapezius and suboccipital treatment.
Under the ankles in the prone position. Provides sufficient minimal elevation to help prevent knee hyperextension.
Under the knee for patients with limited mobility. Suitable when a full-round bolster places excessive tension on the hamstrings.
Wrist and forearm support. For upper-limb treatments performed with the patient seated.
Lateral stabilisation. Used as a support wedge in the side-lying position.
SPONG or PLUM
The SPONG provides less elevation but remains stable. The PLUM, a full-round bolster, provides maximum elevation but may roll unless held in place by the patient's weight. They are not competing products: they cover different height ranges and are often used together in professional physiotherapy practices where patient positioning is a priority. If you only require one and work without an assistant, the half-round bolster is easier to manage.
Maintenance
Clean with a damp cloth, neutral detergent and a healthcare-grade surface disinfectant between patients. Avoid high concentrations of alcohol. Store it resting on its flat base with no weight on top so that the foam retains its shape.
