Whey Protein or Milk Peptide Complex (MPC): These are bioactive polypeptides obtained from milk: cytokines or regulatory molecules, stabilized in a physiological medium along with other functional milk components such as beta-lactoglobulin, lactoferrin, lactose, lactates, etc. The fibroblast is a type of connective tissue cell that synthesizes collagen and glycosaminoglycans of the extracellular matrix, so when its number and activity decrease with age, the production of ECM-forming molecules also declines. The milk peptide complex activates fibroblasts through cell signaling. They provide the skin with the key cytokine of this process: the active form of transforming growth factor (TGF-β). These cytokines send inhibitory or stimulatory signals to cells to activate the cellular response, resulting in the restoration of a physiologically balanced skin. The MPC peptides act by stimulating and increasing the synthesis of collagen I, hyaluronic acid, and fibronectin, leading to a reorganization of the extracellular matrix. The result is the restoration of skin functions to keep it young and healthy. The amino acids contained in whey protein help maintain skin elasticity and firmness.
Biomimetic Peptides are those with an identical structure to natural peptides though with a shorter sequence that facilitates their penetration through the skin’s protective barriers to reach the deeper layers of the dermis and from there, transmit information to the cells without the risk of sensitization. They perform their function by imitating the body’s natural intercellular communication mechanisms that dictate the action to be taken by the cells. Oligopeptide-24 or CG-EDP3 is a blend with palmitic acid, which is a powerful modulator of the expression of growth factors, such as EGF (epidermal growth factor), as it interacts with its receptor and increases its expression, as well as the proliferation, migration, and survival of skin cells and the expression of extracellular matrix components (collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid). It also helps generate new young cells. Its application provides a lifting and firming effect, along with improved skin tone uniformity and scar reduction. It has a broad anti-aging action overall. It also increases aquaporin-3 (AQP3), a protein mainly expressed in the plasma membrane of keratinocytes—the most abundant cells in the epidermis—which mediates the transport of water. This protein allows the passage of water and other small solutes, such as glycerol and urea, across the plasma membrane, playing a key role in maintaining epidermal hydration, accelerating wound healing, and enhancing elasticity.
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-28 mimics the natural mechanism of extracellular matrix regeneration. On one hand, it stimulates protein synthesis and the production of inhibitors of the metalloproteinases that break down ECM collagen. On the other, it stimulates the expression of the ECM fiber gene by binding to the specific TGF-β II receptor on the cell surface, triggering a phosphorylation cascade. It increases the synthesis of collagen I and III. In addition, it induces the synthesis of integrins, a superfamily of glycoproteins present in high concentrations on the cell surface, which are largely involved in cell-to-ECM and cell-to-cell adhesion. Together with hyaluronic acid, it provides a pronounced botox-like effect and prevents sagging.
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 is a mimetic peptide of matrikines, which are cytokines originating from the extracellular matrix as they derive from the proteolysis of its proteins. On one hand, they provide structural material by stimulating the synthesis of the six main ECM molecules: collagen I, III, and IV, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid, and laminin. On the other hand, they stimulate the dermal matrix and the dermis–epidermis junction. The result is a lifting and rejuvenating effect on the skin, as well as re-densification and a reduction in skin roughness by improving the bond between the dermis and epidermis.
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 is a peptide with an amino acid sequence similar to the activating sequence of TSP-1, a protein called thrombospondin-1 that activates the latent yet biologically active form of TGF-β, which in turn is a key element in collagen synthesis. Therefore, it triggers the process as if it were a natural molecule of the body, generating more collagen. Additionally, being a peptide with a short amino acid sequence gives it exceptional penetration power: it crosses the epidermis and reaches the dermis where it stimulates collagen production and the proliferation of healthy tissue. It also prevents toxins from entering skin cells through a mechanism that eliminates or deactivates them. Thus, it provides skin with firming and moisturizing properties.

Organic Silicon is a complex molecule called methylsilanol-mannuronate, which, upon contact with the skin, separates into two parts, leaving silicon free to exert its action. Collagen is a fibrous protein found in skin fibers, tendons, bones, cartilage, and other connective tissues. It improves skin elasticity and reduces wrinkles and fine lines.
Hyaluronic Acid is a type of polysaccharide found in the dermis, i.e., in the deeper layers of the skin. It is distributed through connective and epithelial tissues. Its main function is to regulate and repair cell growth, resulting in a filling and hydrating action on the skin.
