HOME FULL-BODY SUNBED

Hapro Topaz 12V: twelve 100 W tubes for a golden tone all year

The Topaz 12V is the most straightforward full-body home sunbed in the Hapro range: twelve 100 W Maxlight tubes, no complications and no electronics to learn. You place it beside the bed or sofa, tilt the canopy to bring it closer to the body and, when you finish, it folds and stands upright in any corner. Timer with automatic shut-off at 30 minutes, two quiet fans and protective goggles included.

PERFORMANCE

Twelve identical tubes, an even colour from top to bottom

The Topaz 12V does not split power into zones: it carries twelve identical 100 W Maxlight tubes along the whole canopy. That uniformity is exactly what makes the tone build evenly on arms, legs and torso.

The twelve tubes cover the full length of the canopy at the same output, so no area tans before another. It is a simple, very effective approach for home use: fewer variables to adjust and a predictable result session after session. The Maxlight tubes are the same ones Hapro fits across its range, with original spares available.

The canopy tilts, so you can use it lying on the bed, sitting on the sofa or even standing against the wall. Moving the canopy closer or further changes the effective intensity reaching the skin, which gives you room to adapt the session without touching the timer.

When you finish, the canopy folds onto the column and the unit stands vertically. With four castors and 42.5 kg well distributed, you move it alone into a corner, a dressing room or another room. That is the difference between having a sunbed at home and having a sunbed take over your home.

RESULTS

Full-body colour without leaving the house

No travelling, no booking and no shared cabin: the session whenever it suits you.

Even tone across the whole body
Even tone across the whole body
The twelve tubes cover arms, legs and torso in the same session, so colour builds evenly and there is no need to tan in stages.
Stands upright and stays out of the way
Stands upright and stays out of the way
Folded, it stands vertically on its base. It fits behind a door, in a dressing room or in a corner of the bedroom, and the castors do the rest.
Short, controlled sessions

Set the time on the timer, put on the goggles supplied and you are done. After 30 minutes at most it switches off by itself.
HOW IT WORKS

What happens in your skin during a session

Understanding the process helps you plan sessions properly and avoid pushing the pace.

01
The tubes emit UVA light and a fraction of UVB
Maxlight low-pressure tubes emit mainly UVA radiation, which reaches the layer where melanin sits, plus a small proportion of UVB regulated by European standards. That combination is what triggers tanning without resorting to aggressive intensities.
02
Melanin oxidises first and is produced afterwards
In the first sessions the colour you see comes from the melanin you already had: UVA radiation oxidises and darkens it within hours. From there your skin starts producing new melanin, the pigment behind a lasting tone, visible from the fourth or fifth session.
03
Rest between sessions is part of the process
Skin needs 24 to 48 hours to complete the pigmentation cycle. Stacking sessions does not speed up the result: it only raises the risk of redness. Two or three sessions a week, at least 48 hours apart, works best for most skin types.
Important: the rays emitted by UV tanning equipment can affect the skin and the eyes. These effects depend on the nature and intensity of the rays as well as on each person's skin sensitivity. People with skin type I must not use artificial tanning equipment. Always wear the protective goggles supplied and follow the exposure table for the unit.
HOW TO USE IT

A session in four steps

The Topaz 12V needs no special installation: plug it into a standard 230 V domestic socket and it is ready.

1
Prepare your skin
Shower and dry thoroughly, with no creams, cosmetics or perfume: they can react with UV radiation. Remove contact lenses and always wear the approved protective goggles supplied.
2
Position the canopy and set the time
Tilt the canopy to the recommended distance from your body and set the timer to the minimum time for your skin type. Increase gradually, session by session.
3
During the session
Lie down or sit, set the two fans to your liking and relax. The timer takes care of the rest and the unit switches off by itself, with a 30-minute maximum.
4
After the session
Moisturise thoroughly with an after-sun or a neutral emulsion and leave at least 48 hours before the next session. Avoid direct sun exposure on the same day.
SESSION TABLE

SKIN TYPES

What is your skin type and how do you work out yours?

Skin type is a classification describing how your skin reacts to sun exposure. It is based on skin, hair and eye colour, and on how prone you are to burning or tanning. Knowing it helps you choose the safest and most effective tanning practices.

Skin typeCharacteristicsReaction to the sun
Type IVery fair skin, usually with freckles, red or light blond hair, light eyesBurns easily and rarely tans
Type IIFair skin, blond hair, light eyesUsually burns, but can tan slightly
Type IIIIntermediate skin, brown hair, darker eyesSometimes burns and tans gradually
Type IVOlive skin, dark hair, dark eyesRarely burns, tans well
Type VDark skin, dark hair and eyesRarely burns, tans easily
Type VIVery dark or black skin, dark hair and eyesNever burns, tans very easily

To work out your skin type, consider your most common reaction to prolonged sun exposure without protection. Check with a dermatologist if you are unsure or have a history of sun-related skin problems. Warning: people with skin type I must not use artificial tanning equipment.

Homes with no room for a cabin
It folds and stands upright. It fits behind a door or in a corner, and the four castors mean you never have to lift it.
Preparing your skin before a holiday
Start four or five weeks before you travel so you arrive with a base tone and avoid the shock of the first day on the beach.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything people usually ask us

And if you cannot find your answer, message us on WhatsApp: a real person will reply.

No. This model carries twelve 100 W full-body tubes and does not include a high-pressure facial lamp. If you want extra intensity on face and neckline, the right model is the Topaz 10/1, which does have a 400 W facial tanner.

With the canopy open it takes up roughly 187 × 87 cm, plus the space of the bed or sofa it stands over. Folded, it stands vertically on its base and fits in a corner, behind a door or in a dressing room.

No. It runs on single-phase 230 V and draws 1.36 kW, slightly less than a powerful hairdryer. It plugs into a normal domestic socket, ideally in good condition and not shared with other high-consumption appliances.

Most skin types start seeing colour from the second or third session, and the tone settles from the fourth or fifth. Two or three sessions a week work better than several in a row.

Maxlight tubes hold their output for several hundred hours of use. With normal home use of two or three sessions a week, that usually means several years. Sunmarket stocks the original spares and can fit them or guide you through it.

Yes. Tanning accelerators are designed to improve results in tanning units: they hydrate the skin and support melanin production, so colour appears sooner and lasts longer. Always use cosmetics made specifically for tanning units, never self-tanners or creams with sun protection.

It is not advisable to use sunscreen over your whole body during tanning sessions, since its job is to block UV rays and it would cancel out the tanning effect. However, you can apply sunscreen to specific areas that need extra protection, such as scars, marks or sensitive areas.

Yes. Although you should not cover your whole skin, it is worth protecting specific spots such as scars, recent tattoos, marks or particularly sensitive areas with a high-factor sunscreen.

We recommend using the tanner 2 to 3 times a week, leaving rest time between sessions so the skin is not overexposed to UV rays.

We recommend waiting at least 48 hours between sessions. It is also important to avoid using the tanning unit and being exposed to natural sunlight on the same day, to prevent UV overexposure.

Yes, protective goggles must always be worn during tanning sessions to prevent eye damage from UV radiation exposure.

Yes, it is important to remove contact lenses before a UVA session to avoid irritation or possible eye damage.

One advantage of indoor UVA tanning units is that they do not depend on weather conditions or external factors such as the ozone layer or fluctuations in solar radiation, which allows a controlled and consistent tanning experience. Even so, times, rest periods and eye protection must always be respected.

We recommend using specialist cosmetics that help hydrate the skin during tanning sessions. These products are designed to counteract moisture loss and improve the appearance of the skin, helping the tan last longer.

Avoid perfumes, colognes, creams with citrus, essential oils and products with retinol or exfoliating acids for at least 10 days before the session. Also avoid products with lemon, orange or bergamot, and certain photosensitising medications such as antibiotics (tetracyclines), NSAIDs (ibuprofen) or diuretics. Check with your doctor if you have any doubt about a medication you are taking.

If you are allergic to natural sunlight, you should not expose yourself to UVA rays, as the radiation is similar and may cause an adverse skin reaction.

White patches in areas such as the shoulder blades or buttocks can occur due to pressure on these areas while lying down, which reduces blood flow and the distribution of the tan. Alternating between horizontal and vertical tanning beds can help minimise this effect.

There are several types of home tanning units, including horizontal and vertical models. Horizontal units suit those who prefer to tan lying down, while vertical ones are ideal for those who prefer to stand or for smaller spaces. The choice depends on the space available at home and your personal tanning preferences.

Shall we help you decide?

Tell us how much space you have and what your skin type is, and we will tell you whether the Topaz 12V is the right unit or whether another model in the range suits you better.
