The Topaz 24 C Combi is a horizontal tanning bed with 24 × 100 W UV lamps — twelve above and twelve below — that surround the body completely. It is the step up from a canopy sunbed to a real tanning bed, without needing a three-phase installation: it connects to a standard 230 V single-phase supply. Twelve above, twelve below: the difference between tanning and tanning all over
On a canopy sunbed the back and the rear of the legs always lag behind. On a combi bed with lower lamps they do not: light reaches from both sides at once and the tone builds evenly in a single session.
Twelve lamps in the canopy and twelve in the base. The body is wrapped in light, so there is no turning over halfway through and no compensating later for the areas left behind. For anyone coming from a canopy sunbed, this is the improvement you notice from day one: fewer sessions for the same result and a far more even colour.
The SRS collects the radiation emitted towards the inside of the unit and sends it back towards the body instead of letting it go to waste. In practice every watt is used better: the tan appears sooner and lamp output stays more stable throughout its working life.
The canopy rises and lowers with mechanical assistance, so opening and closing the bed is light and safe even with daily use. Inside, the ventilation maintains a constant airflow that avoids the stuffiness of older beds and makes fifteen- or twenty-minute sessions comfortable.

The lamps emit UVA light and a fraction of UVB
Low-pressure tubes emit mainly UVA radiation, which reaches the layer where melanin sits, plus a small proportion of UVB regulated by European standards. That combination is what triggers tanning without resorting to aggressive intensities.

Melanin oxidises first and is produced afterwards
In the first sessions the colour you see comes from the melanin you already had: UVA radiation oxidises and darkens it within hours. From there your skin starts producing new melanin, the pigment behind a lasting tone, visible from the third or fourth session.

Full coverage means fewer sessions
Receiving radiation from above and below in the same session means no areas need extra sessions to catch up with the rest. That reduces the total number of sessions needed and, with it, cumulative exposure.
Important: the rays emitted by UV tanning equipment can affect the skin and the eyes. These effects depend on the nature and intensity of the rays as well as on each person's skin sensitivity. People with skin type I must not use artificial tanning equipment. Always wear approved protective goggles and follow the exposure table for the unit.
HOW TO USE IT
A session in four steps
The Topaz 24 C connects to a 230 V single-phase socket. No three-phase line and no special installation.

Prepare your skin
Shower and dry thoroughly, with no creams, cosmetics or perfume: they can react with UV radiation. Remove contact lenses and always wear approved protective goggles.

Choose the time for your skin type
Set the timer to the minimum time for your skin type and increase gradually, session by session. On a combi bed the time needed is shorter than on a canopy sunbed: do not carry over times from another unit.

During the session
Lie on your back with your arms slightly away from your body so the light also reaches your sides. The ventilation keeps the temperature stable and the timer closes the session.

After the session
Moisturise thoroughly with an after-sun or a neutral emulsion and leave at least 48 hours before the next session. Avoid direct sun exposure on the same day.

Skin type is a classification describing how your skin reacts to sun exposure. It is based on skin, hair and eye colour, and on how prone you are to burning or tanning. Knowing it helps you choose the safest and most effective tanning practices.
