One of the functions of the lymphatic system is to transport fats and toxins to the organs responsible for their elimination. The fluid of the lymphatic system (lymph) circulates due to the pressure generated by the contraction of the moving muscles, mainly the respiratory movements of the rib cage, and thanks to the pressure originated by the rhythmic arterial impulses. When the lymphatic system is affected, the body is not able to drain fluids. In these cases, pressure therapy helps the body to restore this function.

What is Pressotherapy?

Pressure therapy is a therapeutic method that is presented as an alternative to manual lymphatic drainage. It is based on pressure exerted on the legs, belly and arms in order to activate the return blood circulation, favoring the reabsorption of edema and tissue fluid.

What does it consist of?

Compression system controlled by a control unit, whose function is to insufflate air into the parts of the suit where the parts to be treated are introduced (arms, legs and abdomen).

Treatment

A standard pressotherapy treatment consists of eight sessions with a weekly interval. Each session can last from 20 to 40 minutes and results are visible after the fourth or fifth session. This treatment can be carried out at any time of the year.

Programs

MODE A:
The program is designed to reproduce the lymphatic drainage massage that would be performed by a physiotherapist. It is used for heavy legs and relaxation massage. The swelling process is slow and gradual.
Swelling sequence: After having chosen the area to be treated with the SELECT button (whole body, legs and arms or abdominal girdle), the areas will start to swell from the most extreme parts. The parts marked with the letter A will start to work, followed by B, C and D slowly and gradually. Each section is filled with air in 8 seconds. Then the air is expelled and circulates 2 times. Subsequently, each section is filled with air in 8-second sequences continuously at the same time.

MODE B:
This program is used to treat fluid retention and for cellulite prevention. The sections swell faster than in the previous mode.
Swelling sequence: After having chosen the area to be treated with the SELECT button (whole body, legs and arms or abdominal girdle), the areas will start to swell from the most extreme parts. The parts marked with the letter A will start to work, followed by B, C and D in rapid mode.

MODE C: Combined Program
Swelling Sequence: Alternating Swelling

1. First start compression in section A (feet and hands).
2. Swelling of section C (forearm and calf)
3. Swelling of the lower abdomen (E).
4. Swelling of section B (wrist and ankle).
5. Swelling of section D (femur and biceps).
6. The cycle ends with the inflation of the upper abdomen (E).
